Welcome to Misfit Kitchen Gardens
Misfit Kitchen Gardens is a permaculture non-profit located in Ramah, New Mexico.
Our mission here at Misfit Kitchen Gardens is simple; create an educational sanctuary where people of any age can come learn self sustainability. We provide hands on experience in permaculture farming, as well as other important skills such as building, food preservation and how to build community.
Misfit Kitchen Gardens was created by Lucas Redbeard Knapp. Lucas (or Luca) was murdered on April 18th, 2026 while trying to defend a friend and member of our community. His apprentice, Daniel McGill, has been given permission from his next of kin to continue his legacy on his land.
An Educational Sanctuary
Here at Misfit Kitchen Gardens, we aim to provide an educational sanctuary. What that means is providing people the time, space and materials to learn not only permaculture and self sustainability but also whatever else you want to learn! We provide a small (but growing) library of books and instruments that you can borrow while staying here, as well as wifi so that you can learn whatever you want online. You could even go back to school online and get a full degree while you’re here!
